Leafs Me Happy

Hello friends, old and new, and welcome to my stop on this awesome blog hop! It's been really cool seeing (and pinning) the creative fall projects. Joining me today are:

Wednesday 10
Mochawildchild (you're here)

When I think of fall, I can't help but to get excited about Halloween. In Pennsylvania, the changing leaves are particularly beautiful, but Halloween means CANDY and costumes and bonfires... ahh.  My 12" block features a silly old witch named Koko (coincidentally this is also one of my daughter's many nicknames.)

I used a charm pack that's been sitting in my drawer since last year - Haunted Mansion by Moda. I wanted to add all sorts of bells and whistles to Koko's boots, but my husband threw in his 2 cents and said that would be too elfish. I only ask him when I'm desperate ;-).

I still had the metallic Gutermann thread out and was able to get a better picture this time. What did I do differently? Heck if I know - I'm surprised they're better because the lighting is so muted on this dreary fall day.

How about a giveaway? I hope it's not too ghetto, but how would you like the rest of this charm pack? I only used about 10 charms. If you'd like to win it, just leave a comment and tell me what you'd make. I'll pick a random winner on Saturday.

  4. I love the spider!! And the metallic thread is a nice touch. I too love fall, but the leaves just started turning here in the South. Mostly I love it because canned pumpkin has become readily available :-)

  5. I agree with Denise, I not a fan of spiders, but yours is too sweet. I would make Halloween pillows and add different blocks with the charms. I used to see kids with pillow cases trick or treating and thought, what a way to fill up on treat with a pillow case. I love the thread. Thanks for sharing...Judith, Texas

  10. Awesome witches boots! Love the spider. I don't think it would be to elfish to add to the boots....Don't let him stop you! Besides, everyone knows. Elf's boots are green or red. That's how you know! Mind you, they look great without too! I think I would make potholders.....

  33. Francine-I love your witch's toes block with the cute spider, very clever. Many people are afraid of spiders, but I have learned over the years that they are beneficial-they eat other yukky bugs. We have three felines that usually take care of any spiders that enter our domain. From California, thanks for sharing.

  37. Thank you for participating in the blog hop and sharing your creativity. The block is adorable. The spider is the crowing touch. I love the fabrics you did use.

If I were fortunate to win the remainder of the charm pack, I would make bowtie blocks. Bonnie Hunter is suggested that folks made bowtie blocks with cheddar as one of the fabrics. I don't have my cheddar fabric yet and I plan to have it soon and get started making blocks. She suggests making the blocks as leaders. I think it would be a fun project - like I need another project.

Again, thanks for participating and sharing your creativity. You are generous in your giveaway.

ลิงสามตัวมีชื่อว่า See No Evil, Hear No Evil และ Speak No Evil หรือที่เราจะรู้จักกันเป็นอย่างดีในชื่อของ
