Bloggers Quilt Festival 2012

Bloggers' Quilt Festival - May 2012

Amy's Creative Side
I've been eagerly anticipating this event ever since I read about it on Amy's Creative Side blog!  I decided to go with one that I made last year called Sea Glass. The wonky log cabins are inspired by the tutorial series fromQuilt Dad. I love the colors of the sea - I made this quilt as a way to try the technique and the colors together. I didn't have a specific recipient in mind until my toddler came in and gave it a kiss cause she loved it.. SOLD!

I love those pics where the poor quilter's husband is forced to hold up the quilt until the perfect shot is taken! "My arms are soooo tired"
Surprise! It's just me!
This small baby quilt is about 35 x 42" and is made entirely of scraps & solids (except the block centers)  Thanks for stopping by - Happy Blog Surfing!!

  1. These colors are so bright and fresh! I love it. :)

  2. I soooo draft my husband to the backyard to hold up my quilts for photo snaps -lol-
Your wee quilt is great fun!!
    Have a great day.
    Always, Queenie

  3. Love the colors and your little helper :)

  5. The quilt is cute but your little one is soo adorable!

  6. This is a lovely quilt and clearly your daughter loves it. I am a huge fan of blue with green and your colour balance is really nice. Also, thank you for the lovely comment on my quilt. I would have emailed you back but you are set to no reply on blogger. You will get emails from may folks as you comment if you were to add an email to your profile, just saying.

  8. Sea glass is such a perfect name for this fun quilt. I love that it got the kiss of approval!

  9. Ahhh . . . isn't that why we all quilt? To make beautiful things for the people we love. Obviously your daughter has good taste.

  10. Beautiful colours - crisp and fresh. Thanks for sharing.

  11. It does remind me of sea glass. Love the how your sweet little daughter kissed it and claimed it as her own. Glad my hubby isn't the only one with tired arms.
