Not today! I'd gone to bed thinking of this baby quilt I'm working on so I jumped up this morning to work on it for a bit in peace. To state the obvious - it takes forever when you're making it up as you go. My question today: How do you prefer to design a quilt? Make it up while you work? Work it out on paper or the computer?
finished just in time for sleepyhead to appear!

I almost always do it on the computer before I start :) Ya for linking up!!!! So glad to have you!!!
ReplyDeleteI like to make it up as I go although I usually sketch some notes and then end up not following them.
ReplyDeleteMan, I end up trying to make things fit together - I really need a better system!
DeleteWhat a cute sleepyhead! That's going to be a beautiful baby quilt. Love the fabrics you chose.
ReplyDeleteI love working on improv quilts, which means I make it up as I go along. Then for the more structured quilts, I usually do a quick sketch of the measurements and layouts.
Thanks for your input! I love the look of improv - they just take me SO long! How do you make the time go faster?
DeleteFrancine, those colors look so nice together, perfect for a baby quilt! I always have trouble getting the measurements right for an improv quilt. Last time I didn't draw anything, but started and took it one step at the time, but the blocks don't seem to be the same size! Please let me know if you find a way to get it right ;)
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see the final result of this cute quilt!
Thanks for stopping in! I also sometimes struggle with making those darn blocks end up the same size. My cheater method this time was to make the block bigger with fabric that camouflages the seams :-).. I'll post the finished quilt tomorrow
